We are Nandini & Jay, a couple who photographs couples in the mountains. Candid, documentary, fully licensed for wedding Photo and Video in Canmore, Kananaskis & Banff National Park.
We've photographed many Canmore weddings. This guide covers venues, permits, photo spots, and seasons. Hope it is helpful whether you book us or not.
Canmore offers a charming mountain-town vibe with fantastic restaurants, cozy accommodations, and plenty of outdoor adventures for you and your guests. It sits just outside Banff National Park, the same mountain backdrop with fewer crowds, more venue flexibility, and lower costs. From hiking and biking to relaxing at local spas, there’s something for everyone.
Canmore offers more affordable wedding options without compromising on elegance or scenery. They offer a perfect balance of privacy, affordability, and jaw-dropping beauty. Canmore is more of a “real” town, you might say, in comparison to Banff .
A real-life couple who’ve photographed over 150 weddings together in the last 6 years.
We help you feel comfortable, guide you through portraits by showing how to pose and capture the honest moments as they happen.
This will help you stay present, enjoy your people, and walk away with timeless photos you’ll love forever.
We handle all photography licenses and park permits so you don't have to. Timeless Tales Creatives is fully licensed for Canmore, Kananaskis Country, and Banff National Park. All permit paperwork handled by us.
The right location at the right time makes the difference. Here are our favorite spots.

Canmore itself (within town limits and provincial roads) needs a business permit for wedding photography. However, if your ceremony or portraits take place in Kananaskis Country or Banff National Park, both very close to Canmore, a commercial photography permit is required. Timeless Tales Creatives is fully licensed and permitted for all three areas. We handle all permit paperwork for you, at no additional cost.
The most popular include Cornerstone Theatre (up to 180, rustic lodge), The Malcolm Hotel (luxury, panoramic mountain views), Silvertip Resort (golf course views, up to 200), Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club (covered outdoor ceremony, up to 90), The GEM (modern, mountain views, up to 150), Mainspace Canmore (industrial-modern, up to 100), Quarry Lake Park (outdoor, Ha Ling Peak backdrop), and The Sensory (intimate farm-to-table, up to 60). Each section above has full details on all of these.
Absolutely, this is one of the most popular approaches and one of our favorites. Your ceremony and reception take place at a Canmore venue (no national park restrictions), and then we drive around 20-30 minutes into Banff for wedding day portraits at iconic locations like Lake Minnewanka, Two Jack Lake, or farther to Lake Louise. We hold commercial permits for Banff National Park so your portraits are fully legal and stress-free. We use special prompts to make your wedding portraits fun.
Yes and we love them. We photograph weddings across every culture in the world and have extensive experience with South Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Chinese and other multi-day cultural celebrations in the Canmore and Banff area. We take time before every multicultural wedding to understand your traditions and important moments so nothing is missed. Many couples travel from across Canada and internationally to marry in the Rockies. We're experienced destination wedding photographers and understand the extra planning involved.
We're only taking 15 couples per year. Fill out our contact form to check our availability for your wedding day
